Energy Efficient Web Design

Energy efficient web design actually has little to do with the design of the website itself.  Some studies have indicated that some colors take more energy to display on certain monitors than others, but there has been no conclusive proof to that end.  Instead, energy efficient web design has everything to do with the company you hire to do the work.

Energy efficient web design happens when a design firm chooses to implement environmentally friendly practices.  Design firms that use alternative sources of energy such as solar and wind power and are careful to consume only the energy they need (by unplugging equipment and turning off lights) are able to produce energy efficient web design.
